Following the devastating news of her reportedly breakup with Puerto Rican reggaetonero Anuel AA, after their two-year lovey-dovey relationship, Karol G presented a soulful version of her recent song “El Barco” last night (March 24) at Jimmy Fallon’s The Tonight Show.
The Colombian reggaeton queen unveiled one of 16 tracks from her upcoming new album KG0516, set to be released today (March 25).
Accompanied by two guitarists who added the bachata touch in different floating boats, the 30-year old blue-haired singer performed before a rising sunset blue-themed set.
Her third studio album KG0516, following Unstoppable and Ocean, features collaborations from old school legends Wisin & Yandel, Ivy Queen, Nicky Jam, Zion and Alberto Stylee on the track “Leyendas”.
As for the new wave of talent, she included – but not limited to – Ozuna (“Odisea”), Argentine urbano singer Nathy Peluso (“Gato Malo”), American born trap/reggaeton artist Mariah Angeliq (“El Makinon”) and Colombian rising popstar Camilo (“Contigo voy a muerte”).
Her latest album, which is also home to mega hits “Bichota”, “Ay Dios Mio”, “Tusa” ft Nicky Minaj and most recently “Location” ft. Anuel and J Balvin, is according to the “Bebesita” herself, a product of her experiences during the Covid-19 era (Rolling Stones).
Towards the end of her performance Karol G sang along the words: “Because in the world there is no such thing as sad or happy endings, but I do believe in fresh starts and you are not in them.”
Could this have been a hidden message for her ex-lover and “Secreto” partner?
