When Bad Bunny named his album YHLQMDLG (I do whatever the hell I want) he surely wasn’t beating around the bush. From gender bending fashion in drag, to wrestling, the Puerto Rican rapper has oozed us once again. This time surprising fans with his Japanese skills in his latest music video “Yonaguni”.

Named after an inhabited Japanese Island, the single’s accompanying video sees Bad Bunny dining alone at a sushi restaurant, walking dogs, practising yoga and martial arts, getting a Pokemon tattoo, and attending a house party.

Following his recent single “100 Millones” ft. Luar La L, released just last week, “Yonaguni” is the artist’s first proper single of 2021, a mellow reggaeton track which has already scored more than 5 million views on Youtube in less than 12 hours since its release.

Singing in both Spanish and Japanese, the lyrics admit to attempting to forget a love interest, where the singer is prepared to fly over to one of the Yaeyama islands, Yonaguni, to be reunited with her.

Wishing we knew some Japanese! Seems like Yonaguni might just about become google’s most searched word over the next few days.
